EduCortex

What is it?

EduCortex is a web-based tool that allows you to view and manipulate three-dimensional brain visualizations. These visualizations are of the same fMRI meta-analysis maps that are produced by Neurosynth.

What can I use it for?

EduCortex is a useful tool for students to see the connection between brain anatomy and function. Students can click around on a colorful, interactive, 3D brain map and view the corresponding anatomical term, MNI coordinates, and functional terms that are associated with each region.

You can use EduCortex to generate a list of studies that are associated with a specific brain region.

Students can also use the camera function to create an infographic about a specific brain region.

How do I use it?

Here is a video introduction to EduCortex created by Sally Seraphin and Shannon Stock.

What are some example assignments?

This activity provides practice with using EduCortex to explore brain anatomy and function.
